Adox HR-50 is a current ISO 50 black-and-white film derived from a technical/aerial emulsion, offering extremely high resolving power, ultra-fine grain and extended red sensitivity that gives it a slightly infrared-leaning tonal response. Paired with Adox's HR developer it becomes a general-pictorial film of exceptional sharpness.

HR-50 resolves enormous detail with grain that is essentially invisible, making it superb for landscapes, architecture and any subject where sharpness is paramount. Its extended red sensitivity lightens skies-through-foliage subtly and can be pushed further with a red filter for a mild infrared look. Contrast is on the higher side; the dedicated Adox HR developer tames it into a full pictorial tonal scale.

Use Adox HR Developer for balanced pictorial tones — general-purpose developers can render it very contrasty. Rate at box speed, use a tripod at ISO 50, and try a light red or orange filter to exploit its extended red response.
