Generated color character — not a sample photograph

Velvia 100 keeps the saturated Velvia look with a full stop more speed than Velvia 50, giving vivid landscape colour with a touch more shooting flexibility.

Character & look

Velvia 100 delivers the intense greens, reds and skies the Velvia name is famous for, but its ISO 100 speed makes it a little easier to handhold and slightly less contrasty than Velvia 50. Latitude is still narrow, so precise exposure matters, but the extra speed widens where you can use it. It scans and enlarges cleanly thanks to very fine grain, and remains a top choice for nature, travel and landscape work where colour impact is the goal.

Shooting & development tips

Meter for the highlights and bracket in high-contrast scenes. The extra stop over Velvia 50 helps in slightly dimmer light, but a tripod still pays off for landscapes.
