Generated color character — not a sample photograph
Kodak Vision3 500T (5219) is a professional tungsten-balanced ISO 500 motion-picture stock, the base emulsion behind CineStill 800T. Respooled for stills, it excels in low and artificial light with cinematic latitude, but its remjet backing demands ECN-2 or specialist handling.
Character & look
Vision3 500T is engineered for tungsten and mixed artificial light, rendering warm indoor and street-lamp scenes without the heavy orange cast of daylight film. Under daylight it reads cool and blue unless corrected with an 85 filter. It offers fine grain for a 500-speed stock, low contrast and wide latitude that hold both neon highlights and deep shadows. This is the emulsion CineStill removes the remjet from to make 800T, so used raw it retains its anti-halation backing and needs ECN-2 development or a lab that strips remjet before C-41. Its natural home is night photography, concerts and interiors, where its speed and highlight control give a genuine motion-picture mood.

Shooting & development tips
Use it under tungsten or neon light for accurate colour; add an 85B filter (rate around EI 320) for daylight. Have it processed in ECN-2 or by a lab that removes the remjet first to avoid halos and contamination.
FAQ
Is Vision3 500T the same as CineStill 800T?
CineStill 800T is Vision3 500T with the remjet removed and rated higher, which is why it shows red halation around lights that raw 500T does not.
