Generated color character — not a sample photograph
Rollei Vario Chrome is a current E-6 colour transparency film with an unusually flexible speed range, rated around ISO 200 but usable across roughly ISO 100-400. It delivers warm, saturated slide colour and is one of the few new chrome films to appear in recent years.
Character & look
Vario Chrome's headline feature is latitude of use across a band of speeds, letting you rate it to taste — lower for finer grain and richer colour, higher when light is short. Colour leans warm and saturated with punchy contrast typical of slide film. As with all transparencies its exposure latitude on any single frame is still narrow, so metering discipline matters.

Shooting & development tips
Pick one EI per roll and meter carefully for highlights. Rate it nearer ISO 100 for the cleanest, most saturated results, or push toward 400 in dimmer light knowing grain and contrast will rise. Process in standard E-6.
FAQ
What does 'Vario' mean in Rollei Vario Chrome?
It refers to the film's variable usable speed — it is nominally ISO 200 but can be rated across a range (roughly 100-400), letting you trade grain and colour for sensitivity.
How do I process Rollei Vario Chrome?
It is a standard E-6 slide film, so any lab offering E-6 transparency processing can develop it.
